ACUPUNCTURISTS WITHOUT BORDERS

Trauma Prevention and Recovery Protocols/Clinical Toolkit

CERTIFICATE PROGRAM MODULE 2

Course Description

As neuroscience research and related clinical treatments evolve, we are learning that trauma is often at the root of psycho-physical health problems, patterns, and diseases. Acupuncturists are in a unique position to treat these dysregulated patterns because Oriental Medicine addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual problems faced by many people seeking care.To date, Acupuncturists Without Borders has trained practitioners to primarily utlize ear acupuncture when addressing trauma-related patterns. This course will introduce the participant to a much more expansive clinical tool kit that includes other TCM and somatic therapies for prevention and treatment, enabling them to provide more effective trauma-informed care.

Topics covered include:

  • Trauma and Trauma Informed Care
  • Somatic Therapy and Trauma
  • Current Biomedical Trauma Treatments
  • Ear, Scalp, and Body Acupuncture Protocols
  • Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy
  • Physical-Energetic Exercises for Trauma Reduction
  • Touch Techniques for Trauma
  • Case Studies

Note: This is the second course in our our five-module certificate program Repairing the Shattered Heart. Each module stands alone and does not require completion of any other.
